PROJECTSt. John Vianney, Walnut Creek
This multi-purpose building provides space for this bustling parish's multiple activities. The facility includes social hall, classroom and library space, two commercial kitchens, and many exterior site improvements. In addition, due to its proximity to John Muir Medical Center, the facility will provide occasional satellite meeting space for Muir. This project was full of challenges, including rework of many site utilities across busy Ygnacio Valley Boulevard; cutting the ground floor into a bedrock hillside, and tying the radius-shaped construction into the existing church facilities. The results are dramatic exterior elevations as you drive along Ygnacio Valley, creative interior spaces with great views of Mt. Diablo, top of the line commercial kitchens, and a courtyard that ties the new construction to the existing facility.
